Reflections

For each Reflection piece (approx. 1000 words each not including bibliography), I will give you a short list of questions or prompts that you have the option of addressing. I do not wish to be prescriptive. If there is something else in the theme that you would rather tackle then by all means please do. I want to see you engage critically with these readings. Your Reflections must go well beyond “I liked it/didn’t like it.” Answers aren’t so much “right” or “wrong” as they are a (researched) representation of your rhetorical and critical skills. Outside sources are a must. For each of our five themes (and thus each of our five reflections), we will be reflecting on our critical, rhetorical, and functional skills. Please include a minimum of three outside sources that support your work and your claim(s).

These are short pieces so don’t let them sprawl. Focus on a central idea or claim you would like to make and stick with it.

Each Reflection should be posted online to your growing and evolving web portfolio and saved to your USB drive and/or DropBox account. Also, please provide me with a hardcopy of your Reflection on the day that it is due. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
